Concerning: Customize the Start Menu Button:

This works in Windows 2000 also. The advantage of being able to do this in Windows 2000 is that you can update explorer.exe while Windows is running. To do this: 1. Update your copy of explorer.exe 2. Use task manager to end the explorer.exe process 3. Choose File -> New Task (run) 4. Choose Browse 5. Navigate to your modified explorer.exe, right click, select copy 6. Paste it over the explorer.exe in your windows directory 7. Now run explorer (File -> New Task (run)) Explorer will now run, restore your taskbar but this time with the altered Start button. This probably works in NT also, although I have not verified this.
