In Windows2k (at least), you just have to go to Device Manager...click the View menu 
and select Show hidden device drivers. 

The device category Non-plug and play devices appears.  Simply disable the Beep device. 
 Reboot, and be happy!



It is my experience on several systems that the registry change doesn't fix this 
at all.  

Uninstalling the Beep device doesn't seem to help either.  Disabling is the key...on 
the Win2k network I help administrate anyway.
