Concerning "Windows Installer Appears Every Time I Start an Application" and Windows
2000. Try installing "Windows Installer 2.0 Redistributable for Windows NT 4.0 and

This problem exists in versions 1.1 through 1.3, and remains in Windows 2000 SP3.
Installing version 2.0 (InstMsiW.exe) should remedy most of these issues.
