Unwanted windows at startup

I've tried all the registry edits in the article, and all those posted in the forum. Nothing works! Whenever I log in as admin, I get 10 different windows; some are explorer windows and others are from different applications. These are not programs being loaded in any of the three startup locations. I'm convinced that no registry switch is going to fix this. I've tried them all. I would like to know where the windows location/position information is stored so I can go wipe it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
