Question about 'How do I make the background of desktop icon text transparent?'

I have a question about How do I make the background of desktop icon text transparent?:

How about.. how do you remove icon text from your desktop completely? I only have a couple of icons on my desktop and I know what they all lead to. I don't need redundant text to show me what/where they lead to.
