I have a question about What's the difference between Windows 2000 and Windows XP? -- Easier to install:

Another benefit of installing Windows 2000 is that you can install it "over the top" of Windows 98. For Windows XP you have to wipe your disc and start over again. For me, that was a big plus. FWIW and YMMV.
