Question about 'Get Rid of the Recycle Bin'

I have a question about Get
Rid of the Recycle Bin:
After un-installing Norton systemworks2002, i had a lot of troubles. I went to norton's
website and followed their directions on how to delete all files and remove registry
entries. I did that and when i rebooted, i did not have a recycle bin icon. i used
annoyances.org add recycle bin reg entry and then it did not have a name, so i used
the rename reg file and named it Recycle Bin. Now when i delete a file, i open the
recyle bin, but i don't have the button to delete all or restore buttons on the left
side under Recycle Bin name. The only way i can restore a file is by right clicking
on the file and then restore and the only way to empty Bin is by ctrl A and then
delete.
Does any one know how to get my Recycle bin back the way it used to be? Also, when
i right click on recycle bin and properties i get this error pop up message "THE
PROPERTIES FOR THIS ITEM ARE NOT AVAILABLE."
Thanks

I don't know the answer to your problem. However I have this wonderful program that
tweaks settings in Windows you wouldn't get to without serious registry hacking.
It does whatever TweakUI doesn't. And it's free! No nags! Download from here: http://www.xteq.com/products/xset/index.html

My recycle bin disappeared and magically returned but while it was gone and I was
searching for a solution I came across this link. Go to the section on Deleting
the recycle bin, it also shows how to edit the registry to get it back on the desktop.
I'm not familiar with this site, just trying to give you a lead.

you can restore the Recycle Bin by adding a Default value with the value "Recycle
Bin" of type REG_SZ to:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\Namespace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
you may also have to first add the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
from the command-line, using Reg.exe version 2 or above, you could do it like this:
reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\Namespace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}"
/v "" /t REG_SZ /d "Recycle Bin" /f

If your recycle bin disappears from the desktop (windows xp) here's what you do:
Go to "my computer" > view >explorer bar > folders. On the left hand side you will
see a list of items including RECYCLE BIN. Simply drag the recycle bin icon on to
your desktop.
