Question about 'Dealing with Windows's Advanced Power Management (APM)'

I have a question about Dealing with Windows's Advanced Power Management (APM):

When Windows shuts itself down it somehow affects the clock on the computer. After a few subsequent shutdowns the clock shows a time perhaps a half hour earlier than the actual time. Computer performance seems to be slowed down too. The only way to correct it is to reboot the computer. How do I prevent this besides turning off the auto-shutdown?

You may have a flat CMOS battery. The only way this can be fixed is by taking your PC to a trained technician who may be able to replace it for you. If not then I recommend downloading a program which updates your system clock automatically from the internet when you start windows. try www.tucows.com for help
