Question about 'Do I still need CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT?'

Hi,
Seems to me win2000 still read "sutoexec.bat" file.
When using the command prompt under win2000, you will see the PATH parameter defined
in "autoexec.bat" is used together those you defined in win2000 (control panel ->
system-> envirment -> system variables)
CPX

You use the envronment variables in the system properties. You do not need an autoexec.bat
in any version of NT (4 and greater. 3.51 might need this).
Autoexec.nt and config.nt are used for the purpose of acting as the respectve files
when the DOS subsystem is used. I.E. Older games/utilities.

A better option might be:
At the bottom of your autoexec.nt file, add the lines:
lh c:\winnt\system32\dosx
lh c:\winnt\system32.doskey
And, at the bottom of your config.nt file, add the line:
ntcmdprompt

How to force autoexec.bat to run

I have had a similar experience. It seems that Win 2000 does not read the autoexec.bat.
Does anyone know how to force Win 2000 to read autoexec.bat?

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
"ParseAutoexec"="1"

I managed to get autoexec running in NT by adding the command 'autoexec.bat' into
dosstart.bat which sits in C:\winnt
don't know if this will work on 2000 though?
