In w2k make a user from the machine name in your w98 comp. Don't forgett grant rights...
In the win98 comp you have to be in the same workgroup.

What you have asked is like asking a surgeon how to rejoin a hand to an
arm :~)
Spend quite a few hours (and dollars if you haven't got Ethernet
cards / cables).
Win2k has help on Internet Connection Sharing in the index -
have a look at that, it's a simple way to get the basics of making 2
computers talk, and you can connect both to the Internet with only one
modem
And check any Win2k help on sharing resources..
