Only works in Windows 95/98

This is a wonderful feature that I wish Microsoft had left in its later OS's. It does not work in Windows ME or later. In fact, if you try to do this under Windows 2000, the shut down command is completely canceled altogether!!!! Talk about a smack in the face!

For WinNT systems like Win2000 and WinXP make you batch file say: shutdown -s -t 0 to reboot do: shutdown -r -t 0 That is a zero after the 't'.

Show file extensions

If you have "Hide file extensions for known file types" checked in folder options, then you won't be able to change the extension simply by right clicking the file and renaming it. However, if you don't want to bother showing file extensions, you can just open notepad and choose "Save As" and add the .bat extension to the name of the file.
