Removing unremoveable devices

Hi people. I'm having trouble with win2k. I have a program which wants to use a microsoft WAN driver for my (crappy) D-Link/Realtek network card. So, i tried to change the driver, rather stupidly, to 'WAN Miniport Driver', and ignored the message saying the driver may not work. Well, it thinks it worked okay, but because of this, it thinks my network card is a WAN miniport. The card is not in my Network & Dial up connections, nor can I add it in add/rem hardware. I've moved it to another slot, and now it's re-installed itself, but I still have another WAN miniport driver (IP), and other programs still identify the other network adapter.. but the name is always garbage. It won't remove because I get 'Failed to uninstall the device, it may be required to boot up' any ideas ? Thanks v much, Russ

Try uninstalling the actual network adapter from device manager, rather than the
miniports, also, try uninstall all your network protocols and reinstall those, might
want to check the registry for mention of miniports as well.

Just my 2 cents

Best of Luck
