unable to download in either NS or IE

unable to download in either NS or IE

Running 2000 pro fully patched. Whenever I try to download from any site in either
Netscape 4.79 or Internet explorer 6 it fails. no warning sign or error msg just
seems to die out. goes from hourglass back to pointer. Any ideas suggestions?

Are you using a Firewall???If you are it may be blocking the downloads..

as a test, try disabling your NAV, then refresh your desktop (F5) or reboot (if you
reboot, set your NAV settings to "manual startup"). try a download. i see that
you mentioned you didn't run a firewall, but did your NAV2002 come bundled with Norton
Internet Security?.
