Question about 'Get Rid of the Unwanted Explorer Windows at Startup'

I have a question about Get
Rid of the Unwanted Explorer Windows at Startup:

How about the reverse problem - when I want unclosed dir windows to reopen but they won't - on Windows 2000 Server. Seting are the same - used tweakui and I also remember that somewhere on the net someone posted a Registry path and did set it too (the same tweakui uses I suppose) and it still wouldn't do it. Otherwise it has not problem remembering positions, sizes etc. etc. There must be one additional Registry path which W2K pro has set and Server doesn't, or maybe even doesn't have it created at all.

It doesn't seem to be W2KServer-specific. I'm having the same trouble on Win2KPro:
I want the folders to re-open, so I can remember what I was doing. No luck with TweakUI,
no luck with the NoSaveSettings registry entry.

Any ideas on how to search for this? All the keywords I can think of (window, explorer,
open, start) are too common to give me a good search.

The last I've heard from someone was that IE 6 is the culprit but it might as well be some of the security pathes that killed that option knowingly or unknowingly.

To fix this use the following registry key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "PersistBrowsers"=dword:00000001 This is an IE6 feature which can be changed using this key Thanks Mike
