Have you tried resetting the CMOS?...your motherboard may have jumpers you can "short"
to clear the CMOS chip.

Is your bios up to date? Check with your motherboard manufacturer to see if you have
the current version. Good Luck.

Pardes Babu jee,
Before you do all of those jumper moving about try an complete new installation.
Just format your harddisk and install win2k all over again if it does it again
then i would advice you to mess about with the cmos jumper. I hope you haven`t yet.

My notebook goes off and restarts, each time i try to open a file from the the system,
