How do I stop change the default start URL that Internet Explorer uses when it starts?

I am administering a small (6 PCs) W2K server-workstation network. I have made an intranet site which I would like Internet Explorer always to use as the starting URL unless users specify otherwise. Does anybody have any idea how I can set this up? I have tried changing a registry entry called DEFAULT_START_URL in the LOCAL_MACHINE_KEYS but this seems to be just what IE uses when you do Tools->Internet Options->Use Default ... When a user first logs in and starts up IE it still seems to use the MSN homepage as the starting URL. I guess there's another registry entry I should use but I can't seem to find it ... Any ideas? Thanks, Andy.

Within the Local computer policy snap-in, user configuration, windows settings, internet explorer maintenance, URLs, you can specify the default URL. You can also just go over to each PC, open up IE, go Tools, Internet Options, type in the address of your page in the 'address:' field, and click OK. Hope this helps.

Look for a file called "ieuinit.inf" somewhere in the system folder. This file is run when "setting personal internet settings" is displayed. There is also some stuff concerning msn-homepage. Be careful if editing! This file is changed every time you update IE. Muelli

All i know is that know is that going to internet options and setting the default homepage is useless. Spammers simply get in and take u somwhere else. I would like to know what to do about this problem too. I have downloaded a program called Home Page Monitor 1.0. It is a freeware and seems to be working so far. I believe that the software goes into IE and sets the homepage to what you have specified each time you open IE. I wonder if there is a way to keep the spammers out completely so that they can never change the homepage in the first place. I just hate spam its a privacy violation!!!!
