The un-wanted items that i want to remove are the ones "when you right/click the
start button" to get explorer. Some applications have added themselves to this menu
and i want to re-move some.
How can I do this in W2k ????

If you look under C:\Documents and Settings you will notice the "All users"
profile instead of the profile of the user adding the program. Some programs install
their startup menu items to the all users profile. Right click on Start Menu, click
on "Open all users" to get to the start menu settings or go through windows explorer
(ie: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs) to remove any unwanted
ones.

Thanks for the quick responce Curt but i've searched all entries and there not there.
PSP, ifran, avg and others have inserted themselves to this right/click option off
the start button and i sure wish i could find where to remove them. I also looked
thru tweakui thinking it might be there but "NO"...

Hopefully, the applications that have added themselves to that menu have an option
in them somewhere to turn that annoying behaviour off. It may be called "Right Click
Shell Integration". If not they suck !

dear friend
u can remove the sharing option from the menu that comes on right click over the
file by modifying a registry value..which is under Hkey_classes_root\directory then
there will be a folder shellex under which u will get a subfolder named as contextmenuhandlers
under which you will get a folder named as sharing, u can remove the key to remove
the sharing option from the rt click menu, to enable it at a later stage just export
the key and dbl click it later to insert the same key
i hope that solves you prob
regards
Ajay
