Question about 'Force Windows to Remember Window Positions'

I have a question about Force
Windows to Remember Window Positions:
After installing a new program in Windows 2000, it opened an explorer window that
shows the contents of its folder C:\Program Files\DumbProgram. OK, but after closing
it and rebooting correctly, it keeps on reappearing! There is nothing in the Startup
folder, and I have searched the registry Run keys (and elsewhere) for the folder
name, but no luck! I can only assume that Window's "remember open windows" setting
is screwed up somewhere. Does anybody know why this is happening, and how to get
rid of it? Thanks!

Could it be the program is opening a default selected window?

I don't think so, since the program doesn't run at startup! (it is a DV video capture
program that I only use occasionally) I would like to know *where* exactly Windows
saves the "open window" information (I assume it is a list in a registry key somewhere)
so that I can delete the entry for this silly window!

Go to run, type msconfig. Look in the startup tab for that program and uncheck the
box. Hit apply then ok. Reboot

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am having a similar one.

No, never did. This goes back a couple of years now, and I have since upgraded my
PC, so no more problem!
