Problem 'Networking XP-PRO with Win95versionA'

I've followed all directions in this article (I've used windows for a number of years).
I've configed the 2 PCs as follows (per instructions in this article and others):
PC#1 is XP-PRO, IP addr of 10.0.0.41
PC#2 is Win95vA, IP addr of 10.0.0.42
Both have the same username and password usage
Both have the same workgroup name
All shares are "FULL" for both PC's Shares and look to be shared per MS instructions
(win95 and XP's way).
File Sharing and Printing is ON for both.
All software is installed for networks:
- Client for MS Networks
- MS Family Logon
- TCP/IP
- IPX/SPX
- NetBEUI (for Win95 for Internet connections?)
The win95 PC can see the XP, but I get "Not Accessable" when I select it via Network
Neighborhood.
The XP doesn't see the Win95 PC at all.
Now for the interesting part:
I started a Command Prompt on both PCs and...
1. I can PING both machines using the IP# and they work find.
2. I can PING both machines using their names, eg, "ping PC1" and "ping PC2"
3. I can run DOS commands like "dir", "copy" and the like and they work.
This is just a simple home network of these 2 PCs.
Any help? Could IE on Win95 be a confusing state (I have that config'd as a LAN
connection).

Set the TCP/IP Address on one to 10.0.0.41 (I used the XP) and the other to 10.0.0.42
(and 10.0.0.43, 10.0.0.44 and so on to the others)
This worked for me.

I'm having the same problems but with XP and 2000, tried the simple file sharing
thing but no joy :( Anyone got any good ideas? The LAN icon on the taskbar acknoledges
the connection, the 2000 system can see XP but not access it and the XP system can
only see its useless self. And yes, if you havent realised - im taking a major dislike
to XP
