Same problem with me. I *HAD* sharing tab, but when i changed my network card to
different pci-slot, the sharing tab disappeared.

That is likely true. I have one 2k server that is multihomed and I know the sharing
tab is there. On this machine (2k pro) with a single NIC, there is no sharing tab.

Not necessarily - I have a PC with only one NIC and the tab appears in my LAN Properties.
However, my internet connection is an external USB DSL modem. I think that the
two NIC rule applies only where one of the NICs *is* the actual internet connection.
You can't share DSL/cable with itself - you need a NIC connected to a LAN in order
to share.
My problem with ICS is that W2K tells me there is another adapter with the 192.168.0.1
IP on the network when I know there isn't. The other 2 NICs on my LAN are both statically
configured to 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3
I've gotten these 3 computers to work with ICS before under W2K with these IPs.
At the time I didn't have a firewall that supported ICS, so I abandoned the setup
but now I can't get it working again.
Anyone else encounter this problem (or have a fix)? Thanks in advance for any help!

I also do not have a tab. I did have one originally untill I loaded service pack
2 & personel web server. I suspect it might be the personel web server that has caused
the problem.
Hope this helps - If you find the answer lets know

Szlampy Says:
Yes, this happens when you have updated your browser to a later version. If your
connection sharing tab has dissappeared then you need to re-install connection sharing.
It's simple:
1) Start > Settings > Control Panel
2) Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup
3) Internet Tools > Details > Internet Connection Sharing
Windoze will then try to install the ICS service from your install location (CD,
Network, etc.) Once installed the ICS wizard should run automatically - or you will
find it here: c:\windows\system\icssetup.exe
Good luck, Szlampy

I have the same problem, Win2K Pro installed and "Internet Tools" doesn't appear,
on the list, when I click on "Add/Remove Windows Components". 8-( Any more suggestions?

I am using Windows 2000 Pro with a Linksys wireless router connected to a DSL Speedstream
modem. I'm trying to enable wireless capabilities on my new laptop. The router appears
to be working but I cannot enable Internet Connection Sharing because I do not have
a "sharing tab" in Nework and Dial-up connections > LAN.
I tried enabling connection sharing in Group Policy to no avail. Someone suggested
I go into Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup > Internet Tools > Details > Internet
Connection Sharing, but I do not have Internet Tools on my computer. Any information
you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for
your support!
