PCMCIA still beeps

I have a question that may be related to Turn Off the PC-Speaker:

I have a laptop with Windows 2000 Professional on it, and I often connect and disconnect my PCMCIA card. (Esp. when I need to switch between using my wireless LAN and my memory card adapter) There was a setting in Windows 9x and Me to disable PCMCIA from beeping and also to stop it from giving warning for "Unexpected Removal". Even after disabling registry setting that was suggested in other posts, and even after disabling the Beep device itself, the PCMCIA device still keeps beeping, and giving warning... Anyone know how I could disable this? Thanks in advance for any help.

I found a link, (I don't remember where,) that said to add "SoundsEnabled" DWORD with a value of 0 (zero) to the registry key where the pcmcia service is located. So.. Dig around and find: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Pcmcia\Parameters and add the SoundsEnabled DWORD value = 0 and reboot. Steve

Works great (don't forget to reboot). Enjoy PCMCIA silence at last!
