Question about 'What to do about a Page-fault, Illegal operation, or Fatal exception Error'

I have a question about What
to do about a Page-fault, Illegal operation, or Fatal exception Error:
I have recently began having a problem during boot up where a blue screen flashes
quickly ( no chance to see what it says) and the system boots again. This problem
continues in an ongoing loop.
I decided to run setup/repair windows. This works and the system boots normally.
However when I shut down the problem reappears.
I would appreciate any insight into this problem.

Did you install Roxio Easy CD Creator 5? It doesn't work on Windows 2000 without
a special fix. Go to safe mode and uninstall the product. Then go to Roxio's website
and download the fix. Now re-install the product, before you re-start the computer,
run the fix. Good luck.

To troubleshoot the problem you first need to see what is causing it to bluescreen.
You might want to change the settings so that when PC crashes it doesn't automatically
reboot. You can do that by going into System in control panel, then Advanced tab
and then Startup and Recovery. Uncheck "automatically reboot" in the system failure
section of that window. Next time your PC crashes it should just sit at the blue
screen showing you the error. Error message will be a bit cryptic but it will give
a starting point. On a separate note, Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum works just
fine on Windows 2000 Pro.

I got the same problem. But its not so random for me. Whenever I click on stuff,
especially multimedia files it tends to go to a VERY quick flash of a blue screen
and restart right after. I am not sure whats up , because I have WIN2k running on
my desktop as well *(this is a laptop) I thought it was a corrupt installation or
something so i reinstalled the whole thing with a new disk, and the problem still
exists. I just dont mess with Music/Video files anymore because of fear of loosing
my work.
Any help regarding this problem is very appreciated.
