mike lin has written an excellent program for that purpose, it's called "STARTUP CPL" and can be found here: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml if you're using windows 2000 (maybe also fitting for xp?) you may also want to edit the processes that are started by the system itself: search for "services.msc" double click it and remove all programs you know you don't need (AND LEAVE THE HELL THE OTHERS ALONE) -> yedrek
