I am not sure about Win2K but I solved my XP problem after much research by flashing
the BIOS. My problem was in ACPI wich some older BIOS do not support and I dont mean
real old either my system was only two years old. In WinXP there is a log file in
the system folder in the control pannel that records the errors. Check if Win2K has
a similiar feature and if u see an ACPI error flash your BIOS...

My mom's computer is having a serious crash and burn problem, since we installed
2000 (she had Millenium, ugh). It's an HP Pavillion. How does one flash the BIOS?
ACPI? wazzat? Help?
Thanks!
