I have a question about Things that slow down system bootup:

After applying WIN2000 SP3 the computer takes a full 5 - 10 mins to bootup...taskbar is displayed, but desktop icons are still loading...why so long? thnaks

Try defragging your drive get tweakUI and use the rebuild icons under repair tab You may need to delete the shelliconcache file (it will be rebuilt on boot Also delete anything from your desktop that you don't use

You could try to run Norton Utilities FROM THE DISK; don't install it, ... the WIN Doctor should correct some of the issues...
