hmmm... the tweakUI->paranoia->clear run history->clear selected items now
should work like a charm.
if you tried editing the registry and nothing happens then i dunno.
are you running any software to take your registry entries? do you have a rights
the computer to clear the run history?
if still nothing works, fill up your run history with a whole lot of entries until
the entry in question is gone.

I have the same problem, I cleared the RunMRU in the registry on my win2000 machine,
rebooted to 'refresh', and I still get a bunch of stuff in my run menu. I've tried
searching the registry on the text that comes up when I start typing stuff but it
doesn't find any of it in the registry. The same stuff (plus some more things) pop
up when I use the 'control+o' dialogue in internet explorer. So as far as I figure
it has to be pulling it from somewhere else. I'll post if I find it.

I'm not sure about Win2k, but in XP try deleting the following file: c:\Documents
and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat from a DOS command
window.
If Windows complains about the file being in use, you'll need to kill EXPLORER.EXE
from the running tasks and then delete the file... of course you'll have to physically
press your computers power button afterwards.
Don't bother trying to get at the file from Windows Explorer as you'll just get the
special folder view (History for Today, Yesterday, etc.) and index.dat isn't touched
when clearing those entries... same goes for clearing the history in IE.
Enjoy!

better yet...
Rename the History.IE5 via cmd or some other non-MS shell, and then reboot. Since
the index.dat file is locked to all but Admins, this is the most opportune method.
The link to the offending index.dat file is cut, and the History.IE5 is rebuilt
as needed upon re-entry to explorer.exe.
