Failure sinking events from IWebBrowser2

This error message is driving me crazy. It is on every file I click on now. It
has something to do with removing the Xupiter files that got on my computer. I believe
they originally got on when I tried Grokster. I did not ask for this program to
be installed. It redirected the pages in IE. Now I am stuck with this error message
that forces me to do an extra click for every single procedure on my computer.
Please help me with resolving this. I have win2k with service pack 3 and IE6. Thank
you, David

''STILL'' Failure sinking events from IWebBrowser2

I'm still haveing this same problem. I am going to attempt to write Grokster. I
hate the thought of having to reload windows and all of my programs or worse yet
my whole computer. I have already tried out a program to clean out and repair my
reg files. this did not stop the error message. It's as if it is telling me that
I have two browsers in my system. It might be worth a try to call Jeff Levy on KFI640
(web site kfi640.com). His show is on Saturday/Sunday from 10 to 1 pst. He can
usually solve anything. Unfortunately I must have installed the IE6 before I installed
my service pack 3 and I did not expect to ever remove the service pack or IE. I
am stumped completely and frustrated. If you can get through to Jeff please let
me know.

simple answer

I have had this error for about 2 weeks, and it was driving me up a wall. I tried
cleaning xupiter from the reg., but had no luck.
I think I have found an answer, I checked at xupiter.com -- under the FAQs page,
and downloaded the uninstaller, and it worked great.--

passing the word

I typed a nice little explanation but the post was deleted when I tried to submit
it because my subject was in all caps, and it "can be considered yelling"... I enjoy
when message boards are moderated with a fascist hand treating the users like they
need 2nd grade etiquette to chat on the message board, but I understand the need
to moderate serial numbers and registration codes... regardless I found help on this
board: http://www.tek-tips.com/gpviewthread.cfm/qid/388284/pid/608/lev2/67/lev3/74
I used the BHO COP so I could also disable the other pop ups... pass the word to
all others who tried to "fix" their pop up ads... That has annoyed me for two months...
later dh :OŽ

Actually I found the solution on my own since one else seemed to know. I reinstalled
Grokster which put th espyware (xupiter and others) back on my computer. This got
rid of the error message. I then used two different programs to rid these viruses.
I used Spybot which found and destroyed them and then Registry cleaner to completely
rid my system of them. I am now installing spyware blaster so that thiey do not
slip under the radar into my system again.

I have that error and it's really annoying and it not only does it for IE but it
does it for My Documents and everything like that. XP upgrade didn't seem to work
and I even tried the uninstall for Xupiter.. turns out I never had Xupiter on my
computer. Help for the poor girl w/ a Sony Vaio running XP?!
Thanks,
Kristen

To Anybody:
Hi I am using Win 2000 and IE 5.50 and there is no such option as disable third
party option. I tried reinstall Grokster and even that didn't get rid of the error
message...I tried everything I can and even accidently erased by Boot.ini file
(I don't know how to recover Boot.ini can someone please help) and most importantly, the
"Failure sinking events from IWebBrowser2" message is still around! it's been driving
me nuts! if anyone can help me please respond because I am completely out of my wits
right now. I tried all the other suggestions and none of them worked...please help.
Thanks, T.K

Dowloaded Spybot-Search and Destroy and seemed to solve the problem. Re-installed
Grokster and ran uninstall Grokster before running Spybot everything is back to
normal. It seems to delete all the crap. Hope it works for you.
