Winlogon Error Message

Frequently after starting Windows 2000 Professional, the blue start screen comes
up and as the information is being displayed on the screen, suddenly a Winlogon error
message for a second, (to fast to read it,) then the computer restarts. This has
occurred several times in a row.
Which Q file on Microsofts Knowledge Base do I need to use and what is the link
for it?
Thanks for the assistance.

The next time you successfully log onto Windows, right-click on "My Computer" and
go to "Properties." The last tab, Advanced, has a button labeled "Startup and Recovery"
that you'll need to click. Uncheck the setting to "Automatically Reboot" on system
failure. This will allow you to get a good look at the blue screen... so you can
write down the first few lines of information. Once you have the exact message at
the top, either research it yourself, or come back here and someone will help you.

Hi Adam: Thanks for your suggestion.
I found out that the error message is: Q296749, "Access violation during boot causes
the computer to computer to re-boot."
I have searched all of the fixes in Microsoft's Windows 2000 SP1, SP2 and SP3, however
I have not found the hotfix to download to correct this problem, so I am still not
able to correct this problem.
Once again, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
