USB mini hub

i have purchased a usb mini hub for my laptop. I hav tried this on my desktop pc
and it is working fine. After trying to install it on my laptop it isn't working,
and the driver file is not verified.
Any help appreciated?

You may need to load drivers for the laptop, or enable your USB port in your laptops
BIOS, the USB port may be turned off by default in your laptop BIOS.

I have used the USB port beofre for things such as adsl modem, digital camera etc

Is your laptop a different version of windows than your pc? Maybe the hub mfg. has
an updated driver.
