Question about 'Replacing Start Menu scrolling with good 'ol multiple columns'

I tried your technique on my Windows 2000 Pro PC. It didn't seem to make any difference.
I still get the arrows at the bottom of the menu showing there are more items to
display.

You have probably already tried this but if not, right-click the taskbar, select
properties, and go to the 'advanced' tab. Down the bottom there is a tickbox to control
scrolling of the programs menu - make sure it is turned off. Also, make sure the
'enable personalized menus' box (under the 'general' tab) is unchecked if you don't
want half your programs to be hidden. You might need to log back on to see the changes
take effect, I'm not sure.

Excellent !! It never worked on Win2000 until I read the second suggestion about
de-selecting the 'enable personalized menus' box too. Thanks.

I use WinXP Home +SP1.
I followed the steps below, unchecking both boxes and re-booting, and WinXP still
continues to use scrolling instead of multiple columns.
What else do I need to do to get this to work?

Both of these are off yet the Start menu still scrolls. I only have 1 folder that
has enough entries in it TO scroll, but it's off the root Start menu and not under
the "Programs" entry. Oddly, moving it under "Programs" makes it into columns. I
guess Microslop didn't test their code sufficiently enough...
