Is there any reason why this file would appear on a Windows2000 system?

Hi, Does anyone know why this file would appear on a Windows2000 system? From what I've read it should only appear on 95, 98 and ME... would this cause any problems as Norton freezes when scanning this file.

Sorry guys, the file is MSDOS.SYS. Was meaning to put this in the relevant forum, but obviously I didnt.

its probably allows your dos prompt to work/backwards compatiblity.

MSDOS.SYS isn't actually required. It's there purely for compatibility.

If this file is giving you trouble, simply delete it and then re-create it. Its contents and size aren't important.
