Sorry guys, the file is MSDOS.SYS. Was meaning to put this in the relevant forum,
but obviously I didnt.

its probably allows your dos prompt to work/backwards compatiblity.

MSDOS.SYS isn't actually required. It's there purely for compatibility.
If this file is giving you trouble, simply delete it and then re-create it. Its
contents and size aren't important.
