Hey, give 2K a chance. I can't imagine anybody wanting to revert to 98. I upgraded
to 2K on both of my computers and couldn't be happier - neither has frozen or crashed
in 6 months.
Just exactly what are you unhappy with? Properly set up, 2K can be made to look
and act like 98 (only faster and more stable).

Hi Glen,
Ihave lost access to several programs and that are not upgradeable to win 2000 and
the colour definition has been reduced to 16 colours .
For me it would be more convienient to return to win 98 but Im becoming aware that
is now not a simple exercise.
fortunately I have two machines running the other is still on win 98

You could try running the 2 apps through compatibility mode. As for the color issue,
you need to get the proper driver for your video card. Do a search for a program
called aida32, it will tell you what video card you have. 2000 is a much more stable
OS than 9x ever was so give it a fair chance.

Hi there,
my sympathy!!! The same thing heppened to me. See
my sad story
But dun worry. there's a solution. Try booting up using a boot floppy and run Win98
setup from DOS. U can get Win98 boot floppy from some other computer which runs on
Win98. if taht doesn't work, u have to format ur C* drive, backing up the necessary
data before, and perform a clean install of win98.
*Note: if u didn't install win2k on C drive. the uninstall method is different. See:

Why blame all your Screwups on W2000.Running W2k on a Computer which originally had
W95 then W98 then was upgraded to W98SE before someone installed W2k on it.Runs an
AMD 330 Mhz,64MB Ram,a 3.5 GB (?) Harddisk.Runs W2k for at least 4yrs.Not bad for
The allegedly buggiest and crankiest of all Operating Systems since the ENIAC
