windows 2000 Pro. in hotmail get done but with errors

I have a compaq 5003 us, originally had windows ME, hard drive died and windows 2000
Pro was installed. When I access hotmail I get the message: done but with errors.
I have double clicked on the yellow ! mark a box comes up saying an error has occured
but will not tell me the error, then I cannot access any of my mail, it is frozen
up. Also everything loads up so much slower and also cannot click on addresses. I
could not even do a search to see if this issue was addressed here before. Thanks
for any help!!! Laurie

Have you checked in Controlpanel/Administrative Tools/Event Logs?
