Running windows 2000. I caught a virus (troj) and had spyware on my system. Removed all viruses and spyware and my system is now clean, but "my documents" and "my computer" folders appear empty and I cannot close them normally. All my files are there but I have to now go into the program I'm using to open them. Folders also gobble up all my CPU while open. I must end the folder task to get my system running normally again. I have reinstalled Windows (without deleting my programs) but hasn't helped. Can I reinstall just the folders program? I'd even use a new program if I had to. Any recommendations?

The trojan seems to have corrupted the Explorer. Get new copy of explorer from microsoft website. www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp Internet explorer and the file explorer are the same. If that doesn't work, reinstall Win2k.
