I have a host with windows 2000 and 2 nics, the ICS was working fine but suddenly the client machine (Win XP) 'cause error trying to get the IP from the server (win2k), it says "no connection or limited connection" and if i see the IP address over ipconfig command it comes another IP number e.g. 162.180.152.10 and Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0 instead of the original ones like 192.168.0.6 subNet MAsk 255.255.255.0, I tried to repair the connection to get reassigned the IP but it didn't work, I tried to configure the server again but it didn't work, Please help me.

Carlos
You may also want to run Netdiag from the cmd (DOS window)..

You may not have it on your machine But you can get it from MS, it will help run
down the error

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=AAE64B62-27C0-4523-8AF9-66A968A8C942&displaylang=en

download it and then install it
to ********* C:\>iptools *********
from the dos window type cd C:\>iptools
and then type the command netdiag
it's like ipconfig but with more info and tools..
for a list of commands type netdiag /?
