Something happened with WinRAR... I think after I 'edited' my registry.

The problem occurs with many different versions of the software. I have uninstalled
and re-installed many times to try to fix the problem.

If I open the program from the Start button it works perfectly.

If I open it from an archived file then two of the buttons are grayed out (Add and
Delete) and the menu options for those two actions are also grayed - however I can
Add and Delete by right-clicking.

Well Mike you know the golden rule in windows..
Backup the reg. file b/4 you edit it...
or make a ERD disk and backup the state files with the backup tool in win2k...
If you did you can get it back in a flash if not you will need to just live with
it.....
It can be pain to fix the reg file. but you can do it if you want to try..
Put a PC right next to the other PC and make sure you have Winrar on it also..
Then run regedit and regedt32 on both machines..and put in the data in the same
way on both machines...
Take Care the reg file runs the machine....one space one dot one ?, etc. will nail
the reg file...and it may not boot...after you edit it...
Good Luck
