Now I just know that I am going to be ripped to pieces for this, but..
I have been reading this forum for a number of years, and I think that
gives me the right to make a comment? After all, if you frequent a place
you have the right to express your opinion regarding that place I think.
As such, please can people say if they agree with my feeling that the way
Dex answers just about every message that is posted these days, and usually
with a huge list of stuff that he seems to have copied from a shareware
site's listings, is getting just a little annoying?
I don't mean this is a rude or antagonistic way. I am just, as I said before,
expressing my opinion regarding a place which I have visited many many times
over the years.
To Dex only : please stop posting those lists of yours! Maybe if you suggested
just one program, or a direct solution?
(I can already see the 'Dex is a great guy, who we all respect more than any
other' messages..)

Nothing stops you from providing a solution to a problem. I have provided a few myself.
If Dex has the time and the information to solve sombody's/everybody's problem then
good on him. He is not infallable but he does a good job at it.
I have followed some of his links and have picked up some interesting information
from time to time.
There are other forums that you can visit where there is no resident problem resolver
but if you want a definitive answer then Dex is the man.
So I say, keep up the good work Dex!

Your perspective of someone compelled to answer each and every post is correct. Rather
the answer to the question is provided or not. Usually not!

Thor
You also have the right to your opinion and I'm sorry if I'm annoying you.....
But so many ways to fix win2k and sometimes one fix will not work but if you have
a list of items it may help.
I could post just one fix but I don't like to just pull one page out of the book
of many ...
Most people who reply to many posted items have a standard come back to fix the computer
.like JmC...he has about 10 that he likes to use to fix the OLD out dated win98os.
The best one for win2k is to just start over but I don't like to be that up front
with most people and hurt them by saying you F***ed it up start over..
Windows win2k runs fine out of the box it's when you add software it gets F***ed
up or go on the NET..with out the right software ..........
The list of items I post I try to keep them up to date and add items from time to
time that many help someone..
I don't get paid for this I just try and help if I can...
If you have read the win2k fourm for a long time you should have got a tip or two
from posting.
If you don't like what I post don't read it when you see posted by DEX you have that
right,,and you say same old shit by DEX but like most of us it's new the 1st time
you read it and it has some good tips in it and it will save you some money like
the EasyOffice item in the post unless you money running out of your ass...then you
don't care about saving money...
And I'm sorry about annoying you, I don't mean to just trying to help...
I don't know it ALL and sometimes the post I put up is not the right one but I do
try unlike most you read and use the win2k fourm but don't add to it...
Anyway have a good week..

Thor,
You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I can accept your statements
as being those of an opinion. However, I do not recall seeing you reply to any problems
with as much information as Dex has. I applaud Dex for his willingness to help.
I have never seen him act in a malicious manner and he is a great asset to this
forum. As he states, if his responses annoy you that much, ignore his posts. The
reason he posts his lists of suggestions is that what works for one person may not
work another person. He is providing different options that should help a problem.
Dex, keep up the good work my friend.
Regards, Crash Override

Thanks Mark
I will always try, it may not be right but I always give it a go.
Can't know it all....
I learn something new every time I read a new post..and that's what it's all about
I think..
This is one of the BEST forms on the NET and I have read many of them....and you
can almost always get a quick feed back unlike the other ones..It may not be right
but it helps most of the time..
It gives most user a starting point, and most user want it fixed NOW.........Like
ME....... :>)
Have a good one..

Most people read this site not for entertainment, but because they are looking for
technical solutions. And I am quite sure that somebody whose computer just crashed
and asked for help, looks at Dex's answer and is grateful rather than annoyed.

Thor, I need to tell you that DEX has been one of the most helpful people on this
forum. I am an experienced W2K user and make it a point to read all posts. I learn
something from almost all responses from DEX. Why don't you try posting and helping
someone on occassion.
Dex - ignore him and keep up the great work!
