'Restart Windows without Restarting your Computer' = Nope, not in win2k, because
it's high security OS and needs to load the settings for the PC user...
Not to sure about the others you have posted.?
What are you trying to do. ?
You can run chkdsk to check your HD for errors.
see the HELP in win2k for more info and HOW TO.

Good Luck

Just more help on chkdsk and how to install Recovery Console..besure to read about
the SET commands in RC.
-----------------------------
Chkdsk
Creates and displays a status report for the disk. Chkdsk also lists and corrects
errors on the disk.

The chkdsk command with the parameters listed below is only available when you are
using the Windows 2000

Recovery Console, which can be started from the Windows 2000 Setup program. The chkdsk
command with different

parameters is available from the command prompt in Windows 2000.

chkdsk [drive:] [/p] [/r]

Parameters

none

Used without parameters, chkdsk displays the status of the disk in the current drive.

drive:

Specifies the drive that you want chkdsk to check.

/p

Performs an exhaustive check even if the drive is not marked for chkdsk to run. This
parameter does not make any

changes to the drive.

/r

Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information. Implies /p.

 Note

Chkdsk requires the file Autochk.exe. If it cannot find it in the startup directory
(\Winnt\System32, by default), it will

attempt to locate it on the Windows 2000 Installation CD. If you have a multi-boot
computer, be sure you are issuing

this command from the drive containing Windows 2000.
-------------------------------------
To install the Recovery Console as a startup option

With Windows running, insert the Windows 2000 Professional CD into your CD-ROM drive.
Click No when prompted to upgrade to Windows 2000.
At the command prompt, switch to your CD-ROM drive, and then type the following:
\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons

Follow the instructions on the screen.
 Notes

To run the Recovery Console, you must restart your computer and select the Recovery
Console option from the list of

available operating systems.
You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group
in order to complete this

procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may
also prevent you from

completing this procedure.
To see the commands available on the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.
You can allow a user to run the Recovery Console without logging on by enabling the
Automatic administrative logon

when using recovery console attribute in the Group Policy snap-in. This attribute
is located in the console tree under

Local Computer Policy/Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local
Policies/Security Options.
If your computer will not start, you can run the Recovery Console from the Windows
2000 Professional CD (if you have

a bootable CD-ROM drive) or the Setup disks. See Related Topics for information on
running the Recovery Console

when your computer will not start.

Sorry, your question is very difficult to understand, but maybe you mean log off
and log back on, which you can do from the Start menu/Log Off
