H I just re-installed windows 2000 and dialup to a private network, connect to
a private network through the internet, and connect through another computer in network
connections is greyed out. how do i fix that. Thanks for any help

Did you reinstall your modem ?
Or are you trying to share/use the internet hook up via your network (Lan) ?

1st. you need to run ipconfig on your machine to see if the NIC card (Lan) card is
loaded and working.
Start/Run cmd
Then type the command ipconfig /all and see what comes back.
It should show all your setting if it's working.
