This may not be the right forum for this inquiry, but response is always so good
i thought i'd give it a shot. I'm looking for a shareware/freeware program that
changes the windows desktop into the interior of a house--library where you put word
programs, documents, etc, a gameroom where you drag your game app icons, etc. Anyone
know where such an app can be found.
thanks, mike patterson

Mike
Try
http://www.majorgeeks.com/
and
http://www.download.com
http://www.tucows.com/
You may find one .
Or you can make one on your own and just make new folders on the desktop to hold
the icons for the programs.
You can make the folders look like books if you want.
Many free programs on the net to do what you want.
Or
Find the MS Theme that looks like the library and use it for your background. (it's
a jpg file inside the theme)
Or Ask a mate if they are using themes.
It can take a bit of work but I'm sure you can get it done.
Good Luck

Mike...Way back in 1995 Microsoft Bob was introduced and is widely lambasted as one
of their worst flops. I never actually saw it or tried it myself though, but it seems
that what you want did actually exist once upon a time! Here's some info:

Mike Just a Note::::

I don't Recommend trying to run it on win2k but maybe win9x or XP,but you will have
the backgrounds bmp/jpg that you can use from the program to make your own background.
"Old 16 bit program."

Guys,
Tks for your responses. i checked out the DrBob and it isn't close to what I'm looking
for. The share ware I saw was a beautiful house with paintings and elegant fixtures.
I've checked all the download sites suggested and have found nothing close--just
an app called "rooms" which give one rock room--not at all what i am looking for.
anyway, thanks for the try.
