I have a 10/100 base network at the moment and I want to upgrade to a gigabit backbone. 
 I am not sure of what is needed and which products are the best.

Which switches do I need to buy (most suitable make and model)
Do I need to upgrade the network cards on each PC

Use Name brand components, You Need ........
Cat 6 Cables.
Gigabit Cards in each Puter
Gigabit Router, or Switch if you use them.
