Thanks Pavv
Good software tip, many users of win2k and XP like to tweak the logon screen and
lock the PC when they walk away from it .
This looks like a true lock system with the key in your pocket.(that's a good way
to go if you don't lose the key/misplace the pen drive)
Have you used the software and did you try and get around the lock ? with software
like NTFS4DOS or CIA that will let you in the side door of windows with a GUI and
if so can you remove the software to get around the pen drive or pypass it just incase
you don't have the key anymore.
Does the software play with the SAM files ? that's not bad in win2k BUT in XP it
could be Hell .
Just the way XP writes the SAM files and reads them.

τΏτ DEX/Bj You can also help some one :>) Please revisit your post so that others on this forum will know if the solutions were helpful or not helpful .

Ok will try to expand my post. :) Yes, Now I am using it. Next I am going to install it on a several workstations to evaluate whether it worth to switch to it.

It seems that Rohos only replaces original MSGina.dll with its own gina. All authentificaion functions works well. Domain login works (loads User profile, home folder etc). Regards SAM files - I dont know.

On the FAQ page http://www.rohos.com/welcome-screen/faq.htm I found that Rohos logon can be removed via Safe Mode login. But I disabled Safe Mode login on my PC.

I am trying my USB stick with PIN code entry for login and auto-screensaver-activation upon USB stick removal. That also puts my MSN into BUSY status that makes me 'away' immedeatelly. PIN code works well. (with 'lock' on 3 wrong PIN entry. )

You can setup Rohos to let you in only via USB key. not by password. It supports password hint and can display domain'ed user account on the welcome screen. (thats realy great) It has typical login dialog where you can login under user account that is not dislayed on the welcome screen by icon. Also its logon screen has a clock.

I will post my report when I try it over my network.

http://www.rohos.com/gina-authentication-module.htm - the list of registry tweaks and policies that it support.
