Allowing filename extensions without nannying!

Hi all,
When I change a filename extension, I always get the message asking if I really want
to do it. Is there a way to stop Windows constantly displaying this message? I've
done a search around but can't find any mention of this fix.
Cheers,
Graham

Windows is just trying to help and the norm is on command files like exe, bat, com, etc.
it will also do it on some doc files because they have a hidden header in the files
that tell windows what to load when you select the file ,like a program, printer, normal
dot,etc.
I don't know of a way to disable this annoyances unless you are real good with a
hex edit program.
It's a built in default item in all windows OS.
Cheers mate
