I have a suggestion about Hide all Icons on the Desktop:

There is an easier way - just enable the Active Desktop, then right-click on the desktop and uncheck ''Show Desktop Icons'' under the Active Desktop menu item.

Are You A Wood Worker ? Click Here

Let me ask WHY ? > Why would you want to hide the icons, they are in place to help you run your machine. It's like saying lets hide the channel changer just for kicks and then when we want to change the channel on the TV we can look around the house to find it. That was fun now lets hide the car keys...
