I have an IBM thinkpad T23 with Windows 2000 that I just bought used and I notice that on some websites the content is not completely displayed. It only does it on certain websites. Yahoo being one of them. Some of the webpage loads just fine while other portions do not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi John, sounds like the display adapter is dying, but perhaps one of the guys can help. Good luck.

Jim

I take it that you are using a dialup modem some ISP will drop the transfer of the web page if you have a real slow hook up and you have a FULL web page showing. It also sound like you may be a bit low on ram this will add to the drag as well. Try this see if you can hook up to a network and get on the net to see if the errors go away. You didn't say how much ram you have on board but you may want to stop some of the programs from running when you go on line with the Task Mrg. to see if it helps.

One more quick test,, plug in a standard monitor to your laptop this will check your screen and video card, most standard monitors take less juice to run than laptop screen.

I have a wireless connection and 256k ram. I don't know if this helps further explain the problem. Also what is a display adapter?

"Also what is a display adapter?" it's also called video card or video device, used to put the image up so you can see it on your screen. Try this don't use the wireless for just a bit and see if the errors drops. cat5 cable to the hub/router.
