I get this message when right-clicking the Desktop or when clicking File in Windows
Explorer. I cannot create a new folder on the Desktop to organized the icons. It
is true also with all the other folders in the Windows Explorer.

Yesterday, I used CCleaner to cleanup the registry. I also ran the Norton WinDoctor.
But I fixed only the issues that I am familiar with. The CCleaner's backup of registry
won't run while Norton has none because I ran the utility from CD. I also boot with
the "Last Known Good Configuration"

I could care less about the desktop right-click. But I really want to know of a
work around to create a new folder using the Windows Explorer. Thanks.

The Spyware S&D did not come with anything. I will run my AVG antivirus also.

The AVG antivirus reported nothing. When I did research about this error message,
I can write a book for the plentiful possibilities why I get this error. I just
cannot afford to reformat/reinstall because I have some programs that I can not reinstall.
I have an image of the partition but it was done a few months ago. A lot of things
have happened since then.
