Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.

The XP CD or the win2k cd will over ride anything on the HD...
Just boot up with it in the rom,,, and read the info that will pop up....you want
to start over, but you will need to have a clean HD...both cd's will wipe the HD
clean of all data info in the " fat " and do that for you...

I guess your not understanding my question. I've already put the windows 2000 cd
in the cdrom. It starts to install, but never gets to the option to do full wipe or
install over it.

It sounds like you are inserting the 2000 CD when Windows is Running. You need to
set your CD rom to be first Boot device, and boot to the CD. If you still are not
sure what that is then Google "How to boot from a CD"

Jeff
a small tip once you get your PC to boot up with the XP Or the win2k cd and you see
the Setup Menu, click on the Setup item,, windows will ask you if you want and try
and repair the OS you now have on the PC,, Select NO ,and windows will show you what
you have on the HD, hight light the item(s) with the arrow keys and use the " D "
key to remove the item(s).
Then you can reinstall the OS you want to use..once the HD has been formated you
should not to need to do it again...both cd's will setup the HD up for you...
But you must read the bottom of the screen, windows put the commands on the bottom
of the screen...

Ok. I changed it so cd rom boots first. The screen loads saying press any key to
boot from disk. I hit a key. It starts to load cd. I never get to a part that says
anything about doing a clean install. It just starts loading software until it come
to a file that is corupt. Its a different file every time. What am i doing wrong
here?

Read link, if You still have problems then I'm not sure what you should do. I guess
I would suggest finding a Local Geek Friend who could sit down with you and see what
is going on.

i've got the same problem.. i've changed hard drives with no success, not sure if
it could be motherboard related (i actually started getting this message after i
put a new (used- EBAY) motherboard in.) i was having other problems before, but
not quite the same.
if you find a solution, please let me know.. i'll continue to fiddle with it as well.
