Try this:

Right click on the desktop select Properties > Web and remove the checkmarks beside Show Web Content On My Active Desktop and My Current Homepage. Click apply > ok.

Sometimes you can't get 'right-click' to work, when the Active Desktop homepage is
activated. You can get to the Display Properties by clicking on 'Start,' Click on
the 'Control Panel' icon, and then select the 'Display Properties' icon to get to
the settings. Then you can turn off the Active Desktop by clicking the 'Desktop'
tab, and selecting the 'Web' tab. From there, you UNCHECK the box for 'My Current
Homepace.'
