I have "COMPAQ 1200" laptop - WIN: 2000. everytime I try to go into "Photobucket" or "Fotki", to pick-up graphic tags / pictures made for me, from different groups I'm in. I get the big blue screen - everytime. Sometimes I get the BLACK SCREEN too. This laptop was upgraded from Windows ME. I've TRIED to update all drivers - but have no clue WHICH ONES to pick and use. I've gone to Microsoft - but don't understand it and again - WHICH ONE! Hope someone can help me on both issus PLEASE! HUGS... Sarah

I think the problem is in, what you refer to as an 'upgrade' from ME to w2k. Win2k was there before ME, but that said, the relationship between the two was never successful..something to do with split partitions or something like that. The other lads on the forum will know much more about that. I would suggest that you bring it to your nearest IT person and see if he can restore the OS without loosing any of the stuff you have. Good luck.

Jim

Because it's older laptop and all laptops have very proprietary hardware and drivers you may want to send off for the disk below it will have all the drivers you will need .... BUT I would suggest you just buy one more that has the software installed and it's up and running, the one below has XP home installed and it's only about 35.oo dollars + shipping and I would say it should go for about 75.oo dollars or less but you would be ahead of the game..plus you would have a backup battery for your laptop.. :) And that's about the same as filling your car up with gas ,,a time or two... http://cgi.ebay.com/Compaq-Presario-NoteBook-Drivers-BOOT-CD-Disk-Get-help_W0QQitemZ110208520562QQihZ001QQcategoryZ80234QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Bid is now at 35.oo dollars, 1 day to go,,, and it has XP home on it. http://cgi.ebay.com/Presario-1200-Compaq-12XL323-Laptop-Notebook-Parts-512m_W0QQitemZ150199701310QQihZ005QQcategoryZ140082QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem ===============
