Hi I have a rather bizzare problem with my Modem/PC at the the momentthat I hope someone can help with. Basically I play a game called PSU online, now if I jump onto the game in about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours my modem will completely lockup, I selcet disconnect but it takes a while to show in the system tray and even then I cannot reconnect. The only way i can reconnect to the net is to turnt he pc right off (a restart wont work) and then on again. and it seems to only be during games that it dc's (and only games like PSU and PSO) The odd thing is say I have a fileshare server running for say 6 hours or so before hand I can play without ANY problems and no disconencts whatsoever, But ONLY if it had been conenctred to the net for a long time beforehand. does anyone have any insight to the bizzare behaviour my modem is giving? Thanks to any replies

It sounds like the modem is find, it sounds like you are running out of memory after a hour or two.. When you reboot windows removes all items in the ram and it's all new again...(clean/fresh ) You can add more ram or a bigger HD for VR ram or just wait for the new Magnet Ram to come out....it will hold the data in ram at reboot...

Read the fine print of your agreement with your ISP.

Mine disconnects me every 4 hours.

Yes but see the thing is if I have had my ftp conencted to the ent sending recieving etc for 8 hrs beforehand I can conenct to PSu and play for 12-14 hours without any problems whatsoever I even ocne left the pc running ftp when i logged off psu for four days and not ocne did the mdoem crash when I did so. it only locks up if I play PSU straight from bootup or even if i go onto PSu aftr an hour email checking etc but using the net hours beforehand seems to stabilise it somehow, almost a sif the modem needs warming up for PSU, hence my confusion
